You know, Wilt makes for some GREAT reaction gifs.
Wilt is my spirit animal.
He is like Tom Hiddleston imaginary friend.
Looking at all these together I have come to a realization: Will isn’t there because his friend got tired of him or grew up. He’s there cause his friend (or a subsequent one after the first) was abusive to him. Everything is his fault in his mind. He gets so panicked in a crowd he can’t speak (the best imaginary friend pageant episode). Now look at all those stitches on him. He’s missing an arm, the sides of his face are stitched back on (clearly not hair- it’s whatever counts as his muscle tissue), his eye stalk is crunched up and the eye is smaller than the other. The crunched up eye is also never (or very rarely) focused on who/what will is looking at.
Eventually he learns not everything is his fault and he doesn’t say sorry as often. But look at him in the beginning of the show. Now I have a large amount of respect for whomever made this character. it’s not obvious, but you can see where a friend like him would be important to a kid like me, and like many others.
